Son of a Mitch!..He's Back!

Cricket.....After bowling like a champ in South Africa, Mitchell Johnson Came to England and bowled like a lost little boy. We were all confused...Where did you go?..My lovely...I wanna know!

The champ was still there somewhere within, but he was too shy to come out. Not even dangling a carrot would help. But It's amazing what a new haircut can do:

Mitch had 3 wickets and 2 catches that were missed, so could easily have been 5 at the end of day 2. His Saturday night fever, or Saturday arvo fever in England was contageous. Hilfi began the colapse with 2 outs on a hat trick, but getting just the 2 in the end couldnt cap it off. The Poms were 5 for 78 in the 2nd innings & it was only day 2!

The first innings was beautifully set up by Siddle with 5 wickets. Dare we say; we love you cause you're a Victorian! England were all out for 102 with catches and ducks galore.

A few of our boys just missed out on Centurys (Clarke and Ponting). There was a mini colapse but after that North got his century with a Big 6! Then even bowler Stuart Clark caught the fever and hit two 6's in a row!

In the end the Poms were all out for 263, Australia winning by an innings and 80 runs! A huge turn around in form from the last 3 tests. The Aussies are back, Mitch is Back! and the timing couldn't be better cause up until now we were in deep Philippoussis.

AFL...I know Gazza, I don't believe it either, Carlton won?!....We'll have to move on. Even the Carlton player can't believe what he's seeing

The richmond North Melbourne draw has set off a chain reaction of close games in the AFL. The Don's seemed to have it sealed when an injured Johno Brown grabbed it and kicked to Bradshaw in the square. Nobody saw that effort coming from the Bombers after their shock loss to the West Coast Tankers.
Turns out the tankers arent that bad after all, or arent that good at what they do, as they failed to lose to the bulldogs?! 2 wins in a row and their first win on the road this century! The Eagles officially take over from Port as the new Schizophrenics of the AFL. They think every game is just a big surprise party for the other team. After beeing shit for so long, things suddenly clicked so fast,...hrrm sus.
Ding dong the Hawks are dead!.... And now we don't have to listen to any more of Jeff Kennetts verbal diarhorea. Hawthorn become just the 2nd team in 80 years to win a Premiership and not make the finals the next year. The Saints win on the Road along with the seriously in form Pies.
To rub Salt into the wound, Buddy's good friend Zach Dawson knocked out his tooth in a marking contest. It's not however his fault your brilliant brain didn't inform you about mouthguards Buddy. See those weird bits of plastic in your team mates mouths???

Here is an updated picture of what Buddy will now look like in the future:

It was uneventful Sunday this week with 5 teams that can't make the finals playing. Port, the olny contender lost to the Dockers continuing with their Schizo ways, losing on the road. The Dockers are a lil confusing too but at least we know they arent tanking. Maybe they should though it might help a bit... Either way it's a solid win for them.
It was Ben Cousins 250th and Richmond showed they didn't care by losing to Sydney. The Swans showed they do care about Mickey O' in his 300th game with a strong win.
NRL....The Storm were in form beating the Cowboys 20 to 8. There was a very athletic catch and put down try from one of our Storm boys, which was described as 'Gary Ablett' like.

The match of the Round was tipped to be the Dragons and the Panthers. St George won 25 to 6 continuing to score tries from the back half. Jamie Soward with a fast sprint down the ground. Even Wendal Sailor was dacked and moon saluted the crowd.

All that n more on the show that goes through more balls than Roger Federer.

Peace out*

put your moon walkin shoes on, its thriller time! a-he-he

AFL...MJ wouldve been so proud of our leauge this week, cause the thriller is back!
Richmond take a leaf out of Geelong's book and win with a kick after the siren. Only this time the Tigers needed a goal not a point so it was all the more of a shock when Jordi Mcmahon kicked it!...Jordi's in there somewhere:

StKilda tried a different tactic this week to beat the Swans by a point at the SCG; praying. Michael O'loughlin had the chance to kick a goal, and make the Swans the first team to beat the Saints all year, but missed. Lets face it, if the Swans had've won, it would've been a huge blow to StKildas ego.

The Cats have achieved back to back thrillers! Last week beating the Hawks by a point after the siren, and this week a win over the Crows by two points before the siren. Paul Chapman and his 6 goals saved the day.

Na na, na na, na na, na na CHAP-MAN!

In Milestones this week. Jimmy Bartel palyed his 150th match, and Darren Milburn his 250th for the cats..... Jimmy Bartel for President.

Adam Simpson played his last game for the Roo's. The club no longer has a player on the list over the age of 55.

Johno notched up the all time Bulldog games record passing Chris Grant. Both Johson and Milburn continue to play despite beeing over 50.

Upsets: West Coast decided to reverse tank to throw us all off the scent, and beat the Bombers in Perth. It didn't work, we still think they are crap anyway.

Port Adelaide has beaten favourites Hawthorn in tough battle at AAMI Stadium. Coach Clarko for the Hawks is still talking finals. He also wants to live in a licorice house on Chocolate avenue
and claims he has actually seen pigs fly :-s.
Buddy Franklin kicked about 1 goal 8 points!...Proving if he has a bad day...Hawthorn just can't win.

Rugby league star for the Bronco's Karmichael Hunt has decided to switch sports and play AFL for the Gold Coast Next year. When asked if he has played many games of Aussie rules, Karmichael said; 'I like Football a whole lot' (Warning may not be actual quote....but it's close).

Karmichael has been working on his AFL skills though, as seen during the week.
This is Karmichael Hunt trying a Handball at training:
And this is Mal Michael teaching Karmichael Hunt to kick a Banana:

He looks confused.

Karmichael is also contracted to play Rugby Union on top of this next year as well. As you can see from the pictures, this guy is a bit of a sports whore, and it won't be long before he has cheated on the AFL and the with many other sports such as these:

Nathan Buckly has finally made a decision about his coaching career!...
No Tigs, No Roo's, It's all about Eddie.
Bucks will be trained under Mick for a few years, then completely steal his job out from under him...officially. Would be awkward if Mick won the last three Premierships before the changeover.

Can I shake your hand while i stab you in the Back coach.

Eddie was just too convincing in the end at luring Bucks back to the Pies...You can see the Love in Bucks eyes, tell me theres nothing going on there:

And we have an exclusive photo of the meeting where Eddie persuaded Bucks to come home to Collingwood:

Warning: may not be actual picture....but it's close
He was forced to watch old Collingwood video's...It was horrible!
Once Bucks has been trained to be exactly like Mick Malthouse, Collingwood can look forward to many more years of the same kind of good to average performances.
.
Cricket....After losing the last Test at Lords, the Aussies needed a good start at Edgbaston. Hughes was dropped, then dropped himself in it by announcing it to the world on Twitter before it was made public.
The first day finished well after some rain to start...No wickets and Watson n Katich were scoring some runs. Enter day 2, another nightmare.
Onions aka 'The Vegetable' caused an Aussie batting colapse with 4/58 and Anderson was unplayable with 5/80. It's so embarrasing losing to carbohydrate.

Day three was completely rained out, and unfotunately could've been our saviour here.

On day 4, it looked like we were recovering, Hilfenhaus striking twice before lunch. he took Collingwood out and the all important Captain Straus.....Then the momentum swung back to the Poms...
Flintoff hit 74 from 79, always a spirit breaker when a bowler plays better than your own batsmen :-s.
As it stands now the Aussies are in to bat and are 2/88, trailing by 25...We will continue to pray for our miracle.
NRL..The Dragons have knocked off the Storm in an epic, high quality battle this weekend 26 to 12. Beeing Victorian though It is bitter sweet to see Melbourne defeated....The Panthers had a tough draw with the warriors after they staged a great comeback. Final score 32 all....
The Raiders thrashed the Broncos 56 to zip leaving their season in tatters. Not even scoring is kind of a spirit breaker.
Wendell gets down with his bad self:

Swimming....Congrats to all our swimmers, in particular our women who have cleaned up in the medals. Marieke Guehrer is stoked with her gold in the 50 metre Butterfly...We are 2....
And she's only 20!...
Bronze medal winner Libby Trickett did well considering she was the only one in the 100 metre freestyle not wearing the super human cheating swimsuit. Even the winner felt guilty about wininng in it. But hey, if you're allowed to wear it, wouldn't you?

Tennis...Sam Stosur has had a win over Serena Williams on the WTA tournament in Los Angeles...Just when we had started to celebrate though, she lost in the next match to Bartoli. Do'h!..Nevermind...Check out her guns, shes like Arnie:

ALPHA...Tonight we talk to our Alpha magazine editor Anthony Sharwood about the latest edition. It features Matthew Richardson, Tassie's bid for an AFL team and Australias best sports blogs...and of course much more.

All that n more on the show that goes through more balls than Roger Federer.

Peace out*

Put your poker face on...It's Tanking time!

AFL....There hasd been much talk of tanking again this week in footy. As the Season draws to a close, its all about the priority picks!...Win and you will be doomed to a life of averageness...Lose and your team will be a mighty superpower full of number 1 draft picks. But as we examine here, first round picks do not necesarilly guarantee unlimited wins or success. Let us look at the quality of some of the AFL's top choices:

Josh Fraser: Collingwood

He's an ok Ruckman that has flown under the Radar for years with acceptable performances. He Looks like he slept in the boot of a car, and hasn't run a comb through that hair in 10 years. Never played in a Premiership.

Matthew Kreuzer: Carlton
Um Yeah...He's tall, so is Juan Pablo Montoya and look how far he's gone in Grand Slam finals *rolsl eyes*...Um....Did we mention he's tall?...Has 3 or 4 team mates who are also number one picks, but the team can't even break into the top 5.....Based on that Will likely never play in a premiership.

Brett Deledio: Richmond

His performance is not really developing at a rapid rate, but his hair sure is. Find's it difficult to get motivated and resorts to writing 'run hard' on the back of his hand, to remind himself hes not just playing in a Nintendo game.

Jack Watts: Melbourne

He's young and new so we will give him more time to mature. But right now my sister weighs more than this guy.

Luke Hodge: Hawthorn

Has won a Premiership, but a year later his team are overweight after celebrating too much, and can barely break into the Top 8. Has also developed chronic groin problems...on field.

Brad Ottens: Geelong

Not pick 1 but pick 2. Has also won a Premiership but can barely walk lately injuring both his bad and good knee. He has been promised to return to the game in 2 or three weeks, every week, for the last 6 months. Think he'd be happy if he could just walk to the shops and grab a paper.

Daniel Kerr: West Coast Eagles

Also not pick 1. Did play in a Premiership but the win has been held under a cloud with all the off field controversies at the Eagles. He is more famous for going on alleged binges with Benny boy than for Football.
So as you can see pick 1 can be overrated....No. 8 picks are however awesome. Jimmy Bartel; Brownlow Medalist, Premiership Player, and Match winner on the Weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was Rivalry round this week and Last years Grandalists Geelong and Hawthorn were playing at the G. The Game looked over for the Cats when Joel Correy kicked a bananna over his shoulder to Jimmy Bartel in the pocket. The scores were level and all Jimmy needed to do was kick a point! And that he did...Never so seen so many guys excited over a missed goal! You

F&*$%#g Beauty Jimmy!

smile Jimmy

Victory is still Grand with a rare fight back win from the Cats, 2 men dwon. The Hawks are now in a difficult position to make the finals. Hawthorn supporters are still living in the past talking about their Grand Final win. Possibly cause they can't count and didn't realise that in the present, they lost by a point.

And just in case the Hawthorn supporters missed it, here's a close up ;-)

The game had everything! Even Buddy and Andrew Mackie had time to fit in a bit of ballroom dancing! Don't for get to dip him Andrew, then let go.

The Moon Dog likes it anyway...Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

In other tanking news; The Demons tanked against the Swans on the weekend, disguising it as a spirited fight back. After the game they realised they dont even need to try and tank because they are just naturally bad at football now anyway. Still not sure if West Coast are tanking or if they are just Crap? But we now know to give Freo more credit in the Derby's. With their 4th win of the season they lift off the bottom of the ladder...No tanking for Freo.

In the South Australian Derby the Crows finally turned the tables on the Power with a thrashing! No tanking for the Crows, no need. They have a big game next week against the Cats to prove their finals worth.

And just when you thought the Tigers we're going to do the right thing and Tank, they beat Essendon????...yes, you heard right. We're confused too but what would the game be without a good ol fashioned upset this week ?

Im sure they will.

F1....He's BAAAAAAAAACCCCCCCCCKKKK! Lewis Hamilton has bagged his first win of the F1 season. After going from number 1 to last, McLaren have finally got something right with the car!...
Australias Mark Webber continues to challenge for the title with another podium finish in 3rd. Button finished 7th and team mate Vettel didn't get any points so Mark is creeping up the ladder to top spot! fingers crossed....

Fingers also crossed for Massa (third last race) who has had a horror crash in Qualifying, and suffered a skull fracture. We hope he's ok.

Cricket....The Aussies have played in a 3 day tour match this week, during a break from the Ashes. As the Herald reported, Mitchel Johnson's frustrations continued when he was again overlooked for the new ball against Northampton. Clark claimed 2 wickets so far, and looks set to take Mitch's spot for the next Ashes test. Mitch was on 0/99 before taking his first.

Superstar Phillip Hughes has been under-performing with a 10, but is likely to keep his spot for the next test. Mr Cricket's score was handy too on 75 (retired).

England's Kevin Pietersen will miss the next Ashes test...Im not sure anyone will notice or miss him. Not even the Poms.

NRL....The Eels inflicted a shock thrashing over the 2nd placed Bulldogs this week, with jarryd Hayne leading the way, 27-8...The The Tigers and Panthers are also making late season charges too. The Tigers beat the Raider 25 to 4. Panthers 28 to 20, a strong win over the Cowboys.

Netball....The Grand final was on this week between the Adelaide Thunder Birds and the Melbourne Vixens! We're so glad it was these 2 teams in the finals cause their names are easier to pronounce. Yes thats right we're looking at you Colourplus Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic!

There was a lil' trash talk during the week between Melbournes Mcmahon and Adelaides Gerard, but as usual they settled things with a kiss:

The game was level until the Vixens pulled away in the second quarter and maintained their lead, making Melbourne Champions. They win their first trans-Tasman netball crown 54-46 at Hisense Arena. GO MELBOURNE! WOOOOOOO HOOOOOO!
