Get your Game on Fed...Its Record time!

Tennis.....It was a week for 1st's in Tennis this Grand Slam. Novak Jokovic lost a big match without faking an injury, & pulling out of a tournament. And the Brits have decided to turn centre court into a centre-fold, allowing the best looking female players to have preference over the best players. When asked for a please explain, official did not deny the allegations, instead insisting if they did otherwise, they wouldn't sell any tickets. Sounds like there might be a similar poilicy on the all England board; all brains and no braun.
Wozniacki and Lisicki were on show while Princess Serena was banished to the outside courts...Hrrm...maybe not a bad move afeterall.

If the same policy applied to the Men, lets face it, Roger and his pony tail woud've never got a game. He'd be minus 5 titles!

And yes Lleyton is still back!...& So are the wagon jumpers as he made it all the way to the Quarter finals. He took the match to 5 sets, a massive effort with an Adductor strain.Hewitts groin now overtakes Gary Abletts as the premier groin in sport.
Lleyts had a few break chances in the 5th, but just missed out to this years finalist Andy Roddick.

The Womens final was business as usual with an all Williams affiair. And this year as usual it wasn't about who the best player is, but who can out grunt the other as loud as possible. Martina was right, can't watch the tennis anymore without turning the sound down. At least there was some quality in the game, but as much as it pains me to give this a mention, Serena won in 2 sets. Sorry Venus.
Englands great white hype Andy Murray cracked under the pressure and was knocked out in the Semi's by a revitalised Andy Roddick. This had given hope to all the O'l timers including Hewitt.

So the final became the A-Rod Vs the R-Fed. Would Roger get the record by winning his 15th Grand Slam title?...HIGHLY BLOODY LIKELY! The game was massive thoug going to 5 sets, 16-14 in the 5th, with Andy looking strong too. Roger finally snatched the win and the Record.

AFL...Not even sure if the Hawks took the field on Saturday night against the Bulldogs? The Dogs kicked a lazy 9 goals in the 1st Quarter. By half time, Hawthorn had only 4 points, which could have easily been accidental rushed behinds from the Bulldogs training drill.

And Hawks, when you're 70 points down and youre still stupid enough to give away an interchange infringement, nothing can help you now.

Things looked so promising before the game too. The Hawks banner read 'Time to fire up Hawks'...Umm i think it was time bout 10 weeks ago. Buddy was held goaless.
Kevin Sheedy has gone after the most avoided job in Footballl this week; coaching the Tig's. He campaigns with a smile on his face, as he slowly marches his coaching career/record to death row.
Havn't always been a big Pies fan but I have always liked all kinds of Double D's. Didak and Davis of Course. Did's was in a leauge of his own again against Essendon on Friday night.Pendle's return was timely.

The Dee's fired up for Jim Stynes against the Eagles. With only a second win for the season, Melbourne have earned a big mention. Good luck Jimmy.

Last but of course not least, it was on like Donkey Kong at the Dome on Sunday between the Cats and the Saints!....The game lived up to all the hype, after a slow start to the Cats. Just when it looked to be a draw, St Kildas tall Gardiner marked and the Saints win by a goal! six lousy points! Geelongs leading forward Steve Johnson was a late ommision before the game, we reckon he was worth a couple of goals ;-)

Soccer...Just when you thought it was the quiet off season in Europe, the trades are on!...Michael Owen was bought from New Castle by Manchester United, for a handy fee. We will check out all the other big trades, and all the big wallets.

NRL...The Storm snatched victory in the final minutes over the Newcastle Nights, shaping Melbourne as one of the top Rugy league teams. They are still not on top of St George, then again, nobody is :-P

Cricket....Marcus North scored a massive unbeaten 191 against the English Lions!

The game was not without drama as an Umpire colapsed on the pitch, from that massivly hot Enlish sun, pfffffft. You can almost see Ricky laughing in this pic. We dont blame the umpire, as we all know how much hard work cricket umpiring can be with the standing still, tea brakes all day n all *sarcasm*.

All that n more on the show that goes through more balls than Roger Federer.

Peace out*
